The Daily Beast: An Unheard Alan Jackson Song

Alan Jackson’s country twang has earned more awards and hits than, err… insert clever “aw-shucks” metaphor here. It’s a lot. Literally hundreds, including Grammys, Academy of Music Awards, 50 top-10 hits, and even a spot in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Even the very first ASCAP Heritage Award. Safe to say, the guy doesn’t have an empty shelf in his house.
So it makes total sense for Jackson to release a retrospective collection at his career’s quarter-century mark. Featuring tributes from Steven Tyler, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, and the late George Jones, Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story is a three-CD and mini book package that includes some never-before-heard tracks, such as this world premiere of “Seven Bridges Road,” Jackson’s take on a song made famous by the Eagles. Yep, you heard that right. A country cover of an Eagles soft-rock hit. Time to kick back and chill out, Wednesday.
