Alan Jackson Inspired by Daughters' Creativity

Alan Jackson's main job is not that of singer-songwriter or headlining performer, it's that of father. He could not be more proud of his three daughters, who are displaying their own talents and individual personalities. The girls -- Mattie (20), Ali (17) and Dani (13) -- are also great fodder for his musical career.

"They're just creating a lot of heartache for me to write about right now," Alan jokes with The Boot. "No, they're all sweet. We don't have much trouble with the girls. All three of them are very creative kids and very smart -- it seems like a lot smarter than I was -- and they're very musical all three of them."

His eldest, Mattie, hopes to be a professional writer, and the college student has already experienced her first byline. She shared her special Father's Day traditions with the readers of Cooking With Paula Deen magazine last June. Mattie also showed her creative screenwriting chops when she penned the treatment for her father's music video for 'It's Just That Way.'

Ali, the middle daughter, appears to be the most likely candidate to follow in her dad's musical footsteps. "The middle one seems like she might be interesting in singing," Alan explains. "I'd say if any of the three were to take a shot at one day, it'd be her, because she's always been the entertainer. When she was little, all those Disney programs and movies would come up, and she wanted to be on the Disney Channel. I said, 'That's fine. I'll try to help you. If you want to go to Orlando and audition, I'll try to help you.' [laughs] But I said, 'I'd encourage you to wait until you're grown to pursue that because a lot of those kids, even if they make it, they're just kid actors, then bam, there's nothing. I'd wait and live my life normal, then try to do something.' I don't know. She might be the one to pursue something."

The youngest Jackson daughter, Dani, seems to have a flair for fashion, if photos of her with her parents and sister at Alan's recent induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame are any indication. Dani is still very young to have to decide what she wants to do professionally, but we say either fashion or decorating would be a great fit for her!

In the meantime, Alan, who has just released his latest single, a cover of Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire,' is prepping to head North of the border for a handful of dates beginning February 1 in Sudury, Ontario, before he heads Down Under in March for his first tour of Australia.
