Alan Jackson gives keys to new Habitat for Humanity homeowner

LA VERGNE — Country music superstar Alan Jackson was on hand Friday to present keys to Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity’s newest homeowner, Keosha Hendricks.

Jackson’s song, “You Can Always Come Home,” has served as a sort of anthem for the national Habitat for Humanity’s Home for Good project, a program focused on building affordable homes nationwide.

“This is your day. I’m so happy for you,” said the cowboy hat wearing Jackson as he pulled a set of silver keys from a velvet pouch and handed them to Hendricks. “You know, this is just a house. But when I give you these keys … you’re going to make this a home.”
