Gospel Album Features Newly-Recorded Traditional Hymns

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Country music superstar Alan Jackson will release his second gospel album, Precious Memories Volume II, on March 26. The collection of traditional hymns is the follow-up to his 2006 album Precious Memories, which topped three Billboard charts – Top Country Albums, Top Christian Albums and Top Christian & Gospel Albums – the week it was released. Precious Memories Volume II was produced by Jackson’s long-time producer and friend, Keith Stegall; the album will be released by ACR (Alan’s Country Records) and EMI Records Nashville.

“Denise and I had made a list of 30 to 40 songs to do for that first album,” Jackson says. “We had so many that we didn’t get to, I thought we’d go in and do a few more just the same way – heartfelt and simple.”

Precious Memories was recorded as a Christmas gift for Jackson’s mother, and a handful of copies were shared with close friends. Prompted and urged by family and friends, Jackson agreed to make the music available to fans…and Precious Memories went on to become a double-platinum source of inspiration for countless people worldwide.

Thanks for the memories, literally. I should get a % of your profits I got so many sold from your 1st one- I would buy one for a relative or friend and they would go buy bunches for their friends. Your song "Stroll over Heaven" has super meaning. My sister in law's relatives were gospel singers and that was her favorite one that they did. They wee from Carrollton so it could even be that your parents heard them!!I also quoted your "Small town Southern Man" at my uncle's funeral, as it described him perfectly. God bless

Precious Memories Volume II - 2013-03-13

I can't wait to purchase Alan's second Gospel recording, Precious Memories Volume II. Volume I is a tremendous blessing that took us back to our childhood days of singing the old hymns in church. Those hymns sustained us through the week and we could sing or hum them while we were at school or at work. Nowadays, the old hymns aren't sung in the churches and the Contemporary songs are unable to sustain us spiritually throughout the week. The words and tunes of the Contemporary songs are repetitious, and difficult to remember and sing outside of church. Thank you Alan Jackson for your beautiful Gospel CD's that we can sing along with and be actually be blessed.
