ALAN JACKSON TO BE INDUCTED INTO HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO STAR TRAIL OF FAME
Honoring His Play to Over One Million Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Fans
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials announced today that 2011 RodeoHouston™ performer Alan Jackson will be inducted into the Show’s Star Trail of Fame Friday, March 18, at 3:30 p.m., as the superstar entertainer reaches 1 million in attendance at RodeoHouston.
Jackson will be only the fifth entertainer in history to perform in front of 1 million RodeoHouston fans. He first hit the rotating stage at RodeoHouston in 1992, and his March 18, 2011, performance will be his 19th time at RodeoHouston.
Jackson will join the elite group of Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Charley Pride and George Strait. Also in the Show’s Star Trail of Fame are Gene Autry (the Show’s first star entertainer), Elvis Presley and Roy Rogers.
“I’ve played for the rodeo fans in Houston a lot over the years, and I always look forward to it. I know there’s always a whole lot of people out there when I walk out on that stage, but I never imagined they’d added up to a million!” Jackson says. “I always appreciate the fans coming out to see me, and I want to thank the Rodeo for having me back again this year.”
