ALAN JACKSON ANNOUNCES FALL TOUR

ALAN JACKSON ANNOUNCES TOUR WITH SPECIAL GUESTS  CHRIS YOUNG & THE BAND PERRY FOR FALL’S HOTTEST TOUR PACKAGE

JACKSON’S 34 NUMBER ONES OUT NOVEMBER 23rd

“He channels Hank for the heartache, Merle for the highway
songs and Gram Parsons for pure quirk.  This is refreshingly
simple music about ordinary lives – now that’s country,”
                                                 - New York Post

ALAN JACKSON has announced a fall tour with special guests Chris Young and The Band Perry.  It’s a great opportunity for fans to preview this year’s CMAs since Jackson received his 79th CMA Nomination last week in the category of Musical Event of the Year, and Young and The Band Perry received nominations as well.  Jackson’s fall tour kicks off November 4th at Arco Arena in Sacramento, and makes its way through California (including Nokia Theater at L.A. Live on 11/5), Nevada, Texas, Louisiana and the Carolina’s ending up at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati on November 20.  For a complete list of dates and to purchase tickets go to www.alanjackson.com.

This year, Jackson is celebrating the 20-year anniversary of his debut album, and he’s doing it in style with the November 23 release of 34 Number Ones, a career-spanning, double-disc collection featuring all 34 of Jackson’s #1 hits.  With 37 songs in all, the project will also include two rare tracks and the new single, “As She’s Walking Away,” with Zac Brown Band featuring Alan Jackson. The video for the track, featuring both artists, will make its premier on this weekend's CMT Top 20.

From his debut release in 1990, Here in the Real World, to his latest album, Freight Train, Alan Jackson has sold more than 50 million albums and scored 34 #1 hits, including "Don't Rock The Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Gone Country," "Little Bitty," "Good Time,” “Country Boy” and "Small Town Southern Man," to name a few.  On September 14th, Jackson will be honored with ASCAP’s Founders Award, its most prestigious honor.

Jackson was nominated for a CMA last week for his duet with Lee Ann Womack on the Vern Gosdin classic “Till the End” from Freight Train.  Released earlier this year, FREIGHT TRAIN, garnered critical acclaim, with the Los Angeles Times writing,   “Instead of talking or singing about how (down-home rural and authentic he is), he quietly and effectively just does it. Freight Train…encompasses a dozen songs most of which he wrote or co-wrote and that embody country music traditions of empathy for the blue collar worker, illuminating self-reflection and witty phrase turning.”

About Chris Young:
RCA Nashville chart-topper Chris Young has scored back-to-back #1 singles with “Gettin’ You Home” and “The Man I Want to Be,” and the Tennessee native is on the radio now with “Voices,” the newest single from his acclaimed sophomore album, The Man I Want to Be.  He received a CMA Nomination in the category of New Artist of the Year.

With his rich, warm baritone and penchant for writing relatable, slice-of-life songs, Young emerged as an immediate fan-favorite when his self-titled first album became the highest-selling debut by a new country male in 2006.  Earlier this year, Young was named the winner of the Breakthrough Songwriter Award at the 22nd Annual Music Row Awards.  For more information on Chris, visit www.chrisyoungcountry.com.

About The Band Perry:
Originally from Mobile, now living in Nashville, The Band Perry - siblings Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry - scored their first Top 20 hit with their debut single, “Hip To My Heart.“ Their second single, the thought-provoking “If I Die Young,” is a Top 25 hit and still climbing. Both singles are on The Band Perry’s five-song self-titled EP, available for download through all major music sites; their full-length debut album is set for release on October 12.  The Band Perry received a CMA Nomination in the category of Vocal Group of the Year.  http://www.thebandperry.com/

Driving Thoughts - 2010-09-22
Driving down the road today and AJ came over the airway. In a split second I was singing along and it dawned on me that his words have been in my head and on my heart through my entire adult life. He's been singin and I've been lovin his words through every turn I've taken. What a profound thought that this one soul could touch so many of us through his gift. Thank you Sir, for making the ride a smoother one! Blessings to you!
