ALAN JACKSON IS ASCAP SONGWRITER/ARTIST OF THE YEAR

 ALAN JACKSON was honored  for “Good Time” and “Country Boy” by The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) at the 47th annual ASCAP Country Music Awards at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The songs, from his hit GOOD TIME album, were two of the most played songs of the year.  Jackson also performed “Good Time”, which was one of the year’s five most played songs on the radio, before an audience of more than 1500 distinguished songwriters, top country stars and music industry leaders.  Connie Bradley, ASCAP senior vice president and Paul Williams, ASCAP president and chairman of the board also presented Jackson with a limited edition Gibson Les Paul Guitar.

     Artists in attendance included Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins, Lee Ann Womack, Martina McBride, Keith Anderson, JD Souther, Jackson Browne, Rodney Crowell, Darryl Worley, Jason Michael Carroll, Love and Theft, David Nail, Eric Church, Bucky Covington, Heidi Newfield, Jimmy Webb, Chuck Wicks, Danny Gokey and Billy Currington.  Tennessee Titans punter Craig Hentrich also attended.
