I saw this story reported on one of the Nashville TV stations on Saturday or Sunday evening. They also showed a picture of Alan that appeared to have been doctored because it made Alan look around 75 years old. You would think that the TV station would have confirmed this story with Alan before reporting it as factual.

If you go to the Grand Ole Opry website reporting the death of George Jones, the first artist's quote is that of Mr. Alan Jackson --- truly spoken from the heart.

I sent an e-mail message to the fan club about preferred seating and received a response that the venue didn't offer any tickets to fan club members. I will be sending another e-mail message to the Ford Center voicing my complaint about such a policy. It doesn't make any sense.

The Evansville Courier and Press also published a story on Monday (yesterday) announcing the concert. Ticketmaster shows tickets to the general public going on sale this Wednesday (tomorrow).
Evansville is now shown available for Front Row Ticket Giveaway, but nothing about Preferred Seating. Seems strange.

Hey AJ fans! I can't believe I am just now joining this man's fan club. I have been a fan for as long as I can remember back. Always been my absolute #1 favorite!! I heard rumors of him coming to KY again and today it has been confirmed!! I signed up for the contests, which are so awesome, though I honestly don't know if I could handle a M&G. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to speak. I see the presale is at 1am my time, not sure how well that will work but I'm going to try! Just thought I would say hello to the fellow fans Lynsey When I met Alan at a Meet and Greet in Las Vegas, I told him that I had been a big fan from the very beginning --- to which he replied: "That's been a long time!" Just as you would expect, Alan is a real down-to-earth individual and it was a real honor to get to meet him and tell how much I have enjoyed his music over these many years.

I ordered preferred seating for the first time and was hoping to get in the first few rows. I waited a few days after they went on sale because I didn't understand how it worked. My seats are in row 13 so I am afraid I won't be able to see very well that far back in the floor seats. i also bought seats in the stands because I was afraid the floor seats would be bad. Now I have to decide which ones to use and which ones to give to friends.
Any seat on the floor in the first 20 rows will be great. Just a thought --- take some ear plugs in the event that you are very near large speakers and you have sensitive ears --- you don't want that to intrude on a great night of music with Alan Jackson!!!!!

I am not saying that Alan is the man to do this, but I hope that one of Randy's peers in Nashvile will take him aside for a face-to-face and heart-to-heart talk and tell him: "You've got to get yourself some help or you are going to end up dead." This is so sad to see. Of course, this may also have happened and Randy has ignored the advice --- in that case, then it's probably hopeless. Just my two cents.

As has many people, I have been watching some of the Olympics on TV. Unfortunately, out here on the West Coast, NBC is showing the day's major events from 8:00 p.m. to 12 midnight and taking up a large part of the first two hours with less interesting events and holding the ones most people want to see until the last two hours. Nevertheless, it is really inspirational and heart-warming to see the joy on the faces of the athletes (and their parents) participating in the Olympics after many years of training and sacrifice. Most of these Olympic athletes will not see big money payoffs from their participation in the Olympics. As a result, it is even more inspirational to again be reminded that such individuals still exist in today's society. The USA can certainly be proud of all members of the Olympic Team. Go USA!!!
