Youth and merchandising always wins, it seems. That doesn't seem fair for Great Country Music!
All Alan Fans know He is THE Best! lol

I'm a newish AJ fan.  Can someone tell me why they don't play him on the radio?  I heard him the other day here in Boston.  I had no idea this was happening.   Can't imagine.....

Some Stations play Alan more than others. we just have to keep requesting and out do the young ones who request a lot LOL . I love Alan's music and they seem to play him here at night more..maybe if we keep requesting they will note we really love his music & Voice.. I called my local DJ last night & he played "As She's Walking Away" for me with Zac Brown Band. Alan should record more with a younger person, perhaps this would help the requests part..I would love for Alan to do something with Zac Brown Band again. Love them too & Hunter Hayes

Cold is better!

Jeri, did you go in and see Sweetbriar?  I have seen it from the road.  The first time we went by, Denise was at the gate decorating it with flowers and waved to us!  Nice memory.

Sharon I laughed at reading this. No we drove by, knowing where it was and the gate was open, workers
there doing their work. we got a great look at the house though. My hubby was so silly, he parked the car across the drive and he looked over the fence at the jogging trail LOL. It's a miracle we didn't meet the police , but we had our Military sticker on our car. this could have helped. They may have seen & heard us speaking about Alan on the security camera & system & decided we were harmless LOL. a Leaf from the Big Tree there blew down in my mouth, my hubby teased "it was a gift from God"LOL. Can you believe I still have it LOL. So nice to have the memories huh.. My M&G I will never forget. My mom was about to pass away In MS, and Alan will never know how meeting him, comforted me. He is the Best Singer/Songwriter to me! I just love his ways of being so humble, this is a natural Gift he has. Denise sounds so sweet too, I talked to her on God Tube long ago..where you submitt questions and they read them & she answered. she had the book out then. I sent a message every minute & they chose mine to answer.LOL Great stuff.
No Sharon I haven't been in Alan's House LOL. I respect his privacy much too much & his family & their safety..

I thought it was a Venue thing. When we took our beautiful, Blonde Young Grand Daughter who looked like 19 at the time, but was only 16 and tall. She acted so gracious & did not even talk to some of the Fans I wanted her to. I knew them but most parents have to teach their children to not talk to strangers. a shame but true. She is so nice, she doesn't drink & is polite. she doesn't play up her looks and wants to be a nice Young Lady with class & manners. Alan did throw her a pic from the third row center & she said "I want you to have this, You love Alan's music so much" wasn't that great ,she gave it to me!
Where are these young Girls parents? they must be older or the girls are just wild. Would Alan want his daughter to be this way, I don't think so LOL I saw mattie jogging w/friends when we drove by the house , when she was about 16 and the world was a bit safer. she waved to us & I told hubby to drive on quickly, or she might get scared thinking we were bad people. ha!
I hope Alan is aware that this only turns his real Fans away. I have to admit I stood up front with these cuties & I was feeling like they were my grand daughter, but acting rather crazy ( unlike her) she is so wonderful. a straight A student.
Tell the young cuties to "Move it on Over " a few times LOL Nice that you addressed this however.

BHR, Thanks for a Great read! Intresting..I even told & Wrote letters that the Country Music Awards should have catagories at least..like Pop, Country, Southern Rock etc..I got a response too.. maybe they are thinking about how
Country Music is world wide now and should Keep it's Roots .
Why should Alan have to compete w/TaylorS. with all her Fans voting. Older people do not vote as much.No time w/working..Alan Jackson is a Master at Singing Country & Writing. His Voice (lower)seems to Improve as time goes by.

This will date me (old) lol but i knew  most all the answers about the oldies but not the young ones much. This should be a real test for upcoming  Singers. Love Chet's writings!
Loved thinking about ole times at the Ryman( Mother Church of Country Music) & old Grand ole Opry & where it was located..! Love Jimmy Dickens & saw him close, he is still funny , God Bless him! Thanks Again BHR, Take Care..
Jerrie-MS PS Does anyone remember Slim Rhodes on Hee Haw?
They had Country Music Singers perform at my hometown  Feed Store in MS (Promoting the Grand Ole Opry) sponsers, and Slim went out to my grandfathers house to get water. LOL

I really Love "Nothin Fancy" I think is good. well anything Alan writes from the Heart..I called my local  Air Personality
Craiger, whom I call "The Voice..999gatorcountry.com and WGNE. He played" Drive" for me, Alan's "So You Don't Have To Love Me Anymore" is listed on this Station comimg in at the 90's! At least they are going to play it..maybe. Let's request now. It's Email  is >Craiger @999gatorcountry.com. The younger seem to play better. Craiger played "As She's Walking Away" last night, w/Zac Brown Band. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Dixie Highway" w/Zac Might gets more Air Play on radio here. maybe this should be the new Single... any ideas Guys?

PS-Not that I watch TV's "Fox Five" much, but Yesterday they played "Five O'Clock Somewhere." Dana loves Country Music  actually. They have played Alan's songs several times in background music.I Wonder if Alan Knows LOL
at least they have great taste in Music & Singers.

I wouldn't mind them so much if they weren't so totally obnoxious and just watched and enjoyed Alan.  But all they do is drink and dance and act totally stupid and get in our view.  Not sure why that happens.
Jinx, I always say"Youth is wasted on the Young" ha ha we older Mom's buy their tickets lol
as you can tell, I'm older now..39 and holding LOL I wish !
Older than Alan for sure, Jerrie from MS

I finally found my Sign in, for the Store and got my membership again. Yea!

I forgot to get the book but we just gave a big donation to the Cancer Socoety in my sister's honor & for everyone who deals w/this awful disease. Maybe I can order the book later..when I feel better.

My husband's friend just finished chemo & has liver, spine & lung lesions. Say prayers for him & continued for my Sister. She recently found she has to do radiation  for 5 weeks for skin cancer.
I appreciate your Prayers, always, Jerrie-MS

That song deserved to do so much better on the charts.  It is a wonderful song and I'm so happy the video
did so well.    Congrats Alan!

After not charting well it gives us some satisfaction to see it rank #4 on GAC Top 50 & get a Grammy nod too.

Thanks Harriet for the GREAT News! I hope Alan plays more on radio. I request lots on WGNE! Hope you feel better Harriet, sure is good to read your posts and see that wonderful photo of Alan too! Take care, Jeri

When Alan came to Cary, NC earlier this year... the local radio station came out on stage and acted like AJ was the best thing since sliced bread (which we all TRULY believe).  It aggravated me since they haven't played a new single of his since 2009 or so.  So when Alan started his acoustic set and introduced this song, I yelled, "Hey WQDR, if you love him so much why didn't you play this song?"  I said it loud enough for Alan, a few thousand fans, and most importantly the radio people to hear.  Caused quit a stir and even got me a tip of the hat from Alan as I sat on row 5!  This is a wonderful song and deserves a grammy to prove to the radioheads who dictate airplay from New York City that they screwed up on this one!  Brad in NC.
Wayyyyyyyyy to go BRAD! I get so tired that our Radio station I listen to, doesn't play Alan as
much now. I request at two stations here! Let's keep it up, maybe the Stations will listen! Thanks! Jeri-MS
PS-Love this Song! Alan does all his Songs Great! That Voice keeps getting better & Better!
Congrats to Adam Wright & Jay Knowles for the Grammy Nomination! Go Guys!!!!!!!!!!! a Great Song!
