1  General Category / Off Topic / Re: June Is Busting Out All Over! Comment on June Calendar on: June 17, 2013, 11:59:30 pm
I know this is selfish but the June Calendar is too light in color so I could not use it because I can't see the icons on my desktop page where I use the calendar for a background.  It does not matter most of the time but I love looking at
Alan no matter what dates are on the calendar.  he is just so handsome!!!

I was thrilled to see the Review of the show at the Palace in the Newsletter.  What a dreamworld I was in with my daughter at that show on February 7th.  I will never forget for my entire lifetime!!!  My heart still pants and my face has a huge smile when I think of it.  I was truly in Heaven and can't imagine heaven being much different.  Alan knows his fans very well and I love him for it.
Alanfan
Alanfan hi! That was a Great review at the Palace. So thrilled you got to see Alan with your daughter! Congrats! I know how you feel, I will never forget my meeting Alan that first time! I still recall it and remember exactly the feelings. I think it was the Happiest Day in my Life! I told my sister this and she said "You know your children were ", I said that was a blessing but with pain lol" we laughed. It is Indeed a Great feeling, and I recall it often . He is so humble, he makes his Fans feel they are the Important one..He is a Great Singer, a man and so endearing
to all who have seen him.Keep those memories Forever! Congrats AlanFan! It is Heaven! Jeri from MS

We are all fine after the heavy thunderstorms here on Friday and Saturday.             Hope all the fans and people in Oklahoma   are doing fine.         Pray for no more bad weather  in the  Oklahoma state.
Amen!dee .
Also Pray the hurricanes away from Florida, seriously. I feel so bad for all those from Oklahoma. Wasn't Mark MacCLurg (sp?)(formerly in Alan's Band) from there? I hope they are all ok..my prayers for all, in the path of this vicious Storm. Stay safe to All Fans , Alan & Family, his Staff, in fact Everyone..Take care, Jeri.
4  General Category / Alan Music Discussion / Re: Alan on John Fogerty's New Record - released today on: June 02, 2013, 11:13:05 pm
I just bought my copy of this album today and have just listened to it. First off, kudos to John Fogerty for the well put together mix of refreshing new voices to the some of the fave Credence Clearwater Revival songs. Though, of course, the originals are still the best, the songs in "Wrote A Song For Everyone" album  sounded almost like they're new. Although I've been a country music fan for many years, before my introduction to country music, I listened to any music that I find enjoyment in listening to. . .from the golden oldies, to the Beatles and many others. Then there was the CCR whose songs I never got tired of and still enjoy listening to. I recommend this album to anyone who would want to give it a listen.
I was pleasantly surprised as to how well Alan sang "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" with John. I mean, I thought that "Proud Mary" would be more in his voice range and "HYESTR" will be a little bit too high for him to sing. But Alan did it very well and I love hearing him sing it. I can't get it out of my head now. LOL! Job well done, Alan!

BHR

BHR, I was a Forgerty Fan , back in the day lol. I think most young people listen to what is popular at the time.
I was a Huge ELVIS ( livin' in MS), also a Beatles Fan too ha! Loved "Imagine". Paul was my favorite, so cute.I love Country Music and we always listened to the Grand Ole Opry on TV, on Saturday night. Actually they put on feed shows for the farmers & played good ole Country music. I think it was sponsered by Martha White..then LIVE. loved it.Now I'm a huge Alan Jackson Fan lol(well, actually I've lost down to 130's being sick LOL)
Love the one Alan did, and I got mine from I-Tunes, until I buy the Album.."Have You Ever Seen The Rain" was one of my favorites back when. Alan w/John does it so well. Artists Love their Music and I'm sure they were both in awe of the outcome..Let's face it Alan can sing ANYTHING and make it his own..sound..Good Night for now, Jerrie

Don't know why but now we have to keep a good look and check the tour page frequently
Yes, I think that is the way to be first at getting good tickets period.I missed a listing and failed to check ofter, so it was my  own fault. I wont blame the staff as they are always so great to help out..Tickets can go fast. Jeri

Just want to say hello to everybody. I'm doing fine and i hope you all do ! Very bad weather in Belgium and West-Europe. A lot of rain and very cold for the season +/- 50°F or 10°C. I'm looking out for nice Spring weather.
Hope it come soon.
Have a nice weekend everybody
Jean

Jean, nice to hear the word cold, but I hope your weather improves & you have a great weekend
also. Thank Heavens we don't live in Oklahoma, I feel so sorry for those people to see the photos. Prayers to all of them.I am not looking forward to hurricane season upon us now  one bit..We may drive away on vacation if one heads this way ha! Good to be retired Jean, Like us, we spend a lot of time at the Dr's office ha. My dear hubby said he should not have retired. This is his third, after tours in the military & served in Vietnam in an unpopular war..This was during the draft .
Memorial Day is soon. I learned today it's the Law to take a few minutes of silence, to salute those in the war.. brave souls.the Law is not enforced, due to our freedoms, but we can if we like anyway. we always do.
Take it easy Jean & enjoy later w/wife perhaps..You miss that bike ride, huh. we have riders here, but traffic doesn't seem to respect them like they should, Jerrie

The concert last night was absolutely perfect....just like all of Alan's concerts.  He looked amazing and was so relaxed and talkative.  The venue is a wonderful place to go....smaller and easy to get in and out.  A really fun night!   Dizzy and Mazie were there and we also talked to Faye who was there with her daughter.   Jerrie, you were missed...you should have been there!  Next time!

Happy Mother's Day to each and every Mother on earth and in heaven !
Beth,
Well said and Thank You. My Mom died in my arms at 92 almost 93 and not long ago.She was in skilled Nursing & ready
"when the good Lord calls", she would say.
I miss her so and always will.i will always be "Her Baby" she said. My older  sister called me on Mother's Day & said "I Miss Mom, & I know you do." then we talked about funny times too!

Love your Mom's while you have them, always.
I was in MS a few weeks before she died and won a Meet and Greet to see Alan in MS. Strange thing, we took our laptop or I would never had gotten that Email telling me. I screamed LOUD! ha! My sister & her hubby went with us.
Alan will never know how much meeting him meant to me at that sad time. we talked a while. Thanks Alan, so very much! It gave me such peace to stand by Alan & see he was so humble. He never rushed me. it meant so much to me.

Mother was a great lady of faith and always there for her children. God Bless You All & your loved ones, Jerrie from MS

Jeri I am sorry you won't be able to make St. Augustine
I relize it a outdoor show...Mazie has not been feeling
really good but she got to go to the showl And we are
Planning on going to Nashville Ist of June If everything
go right...Making plane resavations this time I am getting
so old everybody is afraid for me to drive altho I drive
every where else we go....I have been driving there for
many years....the nice thing about flying up 1 hr  and
you are there. Will miss you at the show...dizzy

Thanks Dizzy for thinking of me. I have been to that Venue and it's good & comfy. I talked to Sue there once.
Presently I am doing treatments for Asthma weekly and it's much too hot some nights. It's the humidity mostly.

So happy you & Mazie can go. I hope she feels well enough to go to Nashville by then. You have been such loyal Fans!
Flying to Nashville does sound like a better idea. Alan is worth the travel and his Musicians! I hope to go a long time.
when we go or visit our son, we stop halfway now, if we have the time.
Take care you two, Hugs Jerrie

Harriet,Thanks for all you do to add to the board!

I am enjoying these cooler nights, but the days in the hot 80's, is not good for an asthmatic.
It seems we spend too much time w/illiness in the family lately, but we have Joy also to balance the time.

we have some fun time coming up to let our daughter know what a great Mom she has been!

All you Mom's, Have a Great Mother's Day! Be Grateful & Enjoy! Jerrie-MS
