They certainly are doing well. I wish Alan was at the top. I would not want my wages published in a magazine no matter what I was making. I guess you just lose your privacy. I hope Alan continues to do very well. He's spectacular!! Just saw that wonderful concert at Mohegan Sun in CT. WOW!!!!!

Hi Great Lakes Kayaker Lori-
Can't go to Sarnia because I am Asthmatic and can't even be outdoors when they are mowing my lawn. We had a cottage at Sarnia when I was a kid. I loved it there.
Good idea to send my daugher Alan's sheet music. That might motivate her to get rolling. I'll get to see Alan again another time. He's also coming to Mt. Pleasant, MI, home of Central MI University, but that one is outdoors too.
You are sweet to think of the sheet music thing. It's great to be a fan of Alan. You meet super great people.

ATHLEA: It's wonderful to be a fan of Alan Jackson. They help you, even if you ask a dumb question and they are warm and supportive. I'm glad you got your tickets and great seats. I've never been closer than the 10th row but feel privileged to have had that much.
Some day I will meet Alan I'm sure but I'd wait behind you. You get out there and enjoy that special show and special man. It's a great concert. Lots of luck to you. If you ask another fan, I'm sure someone would go up there and get an autograph for you. We're waiting for your review. Alanfan

Hi Great Lakes - one of my daughters lives in TN and she says my recipe for biscuits "is not like Mama fixed it". She does a lot of the Southern cooking now. She's a good cook and a good music composer but hasn't done it since high school. She wrote one song in high school that the band director liked so well that he arranged the background and had her sit in front of the band and sing it with her guitar. We were so proud. She's quite artistic and a fan also. She's also in love with Trace Adkins. She hasn't picked up her guitar in years but she should.

ALTHEA:
I've never met Alan and have not had seats closer than the 10th row. With my handicap I can't go running up there to get an autograph. I'd love to have a guitar pick too. One day I'll get a meet and greet but meanwhile I'll just run off with the guy named McClung (spelling?) who plays that beautiful Mandolin and the fiddle. I'm waiting for you show review. I won't tell you about it so it will be SPECIAL FOR YOU.

Hi Again from Michigan. Can't wait to hear how you like the show. Also, how easy was it to get your tickets certified? I'd give you my M & G if I had one. If I was 92, I would hope someone would do that for me but we can't. I've never had a chance to meet Alan. One of these days, my turn will come. Don't forget to write us and tell us about your impression of that very SPECIAL show.

Thanks for your review. We were at Mohegan Sun and that was the best of all the shows I've been to. It was special, personal, professional and homey. My favorite song is "Where I Come From". I also like Mercury Blues. Can you tell I'm from the Detroit area?? heh, heh. I love the Strayhorns and that show was unique when they all sat down and talked about Alan's career. You can sure tell he loves his family and they must be wonderful to share him with us because he makes us family also.
Congratulations on your 28th Anniversary. Treasure every year. We made 46 before my husband passed in 2003. I got very attached to "Sissy's Song". That's the first time I heard him sing it in a concert and it was wonderful!!! I have the video on tape from my OLD VCR. I can't say enough about how spectacular that concert was. It was a special trip to CT for me to see my daughter and I loved it. There is nothing like being tired from a dream event. I won't forget that for a very long time. Again, thanks for your review. I went to the show at Mohegan Sun, CT. They couldn't find my tickets so I gave them my confirmation number and a note from Cindy at the fan office which told me my seat numbers and section. Then they found them. I would always bring my order that confirms that you did buy they tickets and remember to bring the ACTUAL credit card you used and your driver's license.
If you don't know how to get a confirmation or a seat number so that you have something with you, write to Cindy at the fan office and she will send you something confirming that your tickets are paid for. The line was not long in Ct. We got there early and there was no one waiting. Usually the place will help you if you ask for assistance. I have been to 3 shows and they were all very helpful. Just be sure you have something to confirm that you did buy the tickets. Don't worry. You'll be fine. Have a wonderful time. I'm a Senior and handicapped for walking and standing also and I've had no problem getting some help. You sound pretty spry to me. Have a good time and let us know how you did with the tickets and Will Call (Box Office) - same thing.
Alanfan from Michigan (I was visiting my daughter in CT). The show is very special!!

I was lucky enough to finally get from Detroit to Hartford after being in Metro Airport from 3pm till about 8:30 pm when we finally took off after Delta changed the time many times, the second from the last being 6am. My daughter was already on the road going home when they finally decided we were going and I counted that I had sat in the wheel chair without food for 7 hours. Another daughter, resident of Ct was at Hartford Airport for about the same amount of time waiting for me to arrive. We were both exhausted but had the same wonderful thing to look forward to and that was the Mohegan Sun EVENT with Chris Young, Josh Turner and of course the GREAT AND WARM ALAN JACKSON.
That is my 3rd show and my first trip to CT where my daughter lives. She had come home to MI to take me to the Palace show and to Casino Windsor, but this show was my Entertainment of the year Event. It was well done, efficient and warm as toast. I read the review by The Harftord Courant and it was expressive and complimentary, except that I disagree that the "Where I Come From" song is distracting with the video. They are both relevant and and indication that Alan cares about giving you a little proof that he cares about where he is presenting, knows his audience and we all appreciated it. It's just my opinion but I believe the audience loved it. We loved it at The Palace when he had the video of those things from the Metropolitan Detroit area.
This show was a delightful review of Alan's personal thoughts of his 20 years in the music business and he related it so well, while bringing in the personalized parts of his life along with a song to match each milestone of it. It was simply wonderful. He included his Strayhorns, who are his very own friends and musicians and each plays like a Julliard graduate and we found out where Alan found each and what part they play in his staging of the show. It was wonderful to see and hear Alan for 2 hours and he was so relaxed and personal with it all. We got a taste of his music, his mellow voice, his versatility, his family and I don't know what anyone could expect on top of all that.
Josh Turner was great and got a chance to show us his talent and personality and his knack for keeping his audience in the palm of his hand also. I'm in the Senior group and didn't feel like I was watching a kid, but an accomplished entertainer who happens to be young. The audience enjoyed him also. He wasn't the star of this show but his capacity to hold an audience like a star certainly was not lacking.
Chris Young has a good voice and I have had a chance to see his videos and there's no doubt in my mind that we'll see lots of him in the future with plenty of awards up and coming.
Thank you to Alan and the Producer, who arranged entertainment to please anyone who's still breathing. I was the most comfortably relaxed on the way back to my daughter's home after the concert. It was the evening of a lifetime in my estimation. I want more, more, more.

Thank you so much for those interviews. I love to read about the reasons behind Alan's thought process on his music. I'm also very attached to Don Williams and still have some of his CD's. I liked the one called: "You're my Best Friend". It's the kind of beautiful lyric that Alan puts in his songs.
Thanks again, Alanfan
