Last night's show in Salinas turned out to be a very good concert under the circumstances. The first time Alan talked he explained how he had been sick and his voice was certainly not up to par and if anyone was disappointed with his performance they could certainly ask for a refund. He tried his hardest to perform, and did a very good job when it was clear he was not happy with his own voice. He laughed and joked around when he missed a key, and thanked everyone for understanding. Amanda and I were right at stage the whole time. They had about 50 ft in front of the stage, before chairs started for standing room only (which is the venue's arrangement, not Alan's ) It was at the ball field (looked like a little league field ) of the area's rodeo. It was very cold, especially for us, since we are used to 100 + weather. It was 60 at show time, with a breeze. Amanda had a great time, and that's all that matters to me. God Bless Alan for going on when he probably should have saved his voice. I hope doing last night's show didn't put his recovery back too much. I admire him that he didn't want to disappoint his fans and certainly understand if he would have had to cancel again. I just pray he gets better soon.

Tonight's concert in LA was cancelled at about 5:45 pm, rescheduled for next Weds. Alan was sick with laryngitis. I hope he is feeling better soon. I know he wouldn't have cancelled unless it was really bad. So here we are in Hollywood at a motel ( way too expensive for a travel lodge ). Planned on going to tomorrow night's concert too, but will wait to see what info might be available in the morning before driving 5 hours.

BHR, yes my hair is a bit darker than the last time I saw you. Micheal recognized me right off, that's why I talked to him, he's so sweet. The ladies with me were Louann and Debbie, from Florida. I flew into Orlando, and stayed with them. We drove up to the Pensacola concert and then over to the Columbus one. The couple sitting next to you were Betty and her husband.
Dot, sorry you couldn't make it, would have loved to see you again. It was good to see so many AJ friends I haven't seen in a while.
Betty, it was great spending some time with you and your hubby, also Deb and Bill.
Had a ball with Louann and Debbie, thanks so much for the hospitality. Hope to do it again soon. It was great to "be on the road again" with dear friends.
Miss the holey jeans!!!!!!!

Hello everyone! I have not been here in a very long time and have had a lot going on in my life. I lost one of my consumers in Oct, so am now down to just one client. That took away about 90% of my income. Hope to have some new clients either this month or next. With so many state budget cuts, most of the types of people I work with have had their services cut dramatically, if they haven't lost them completely. It's sad that state budget cuts hurt the kids, handicapped and seniors the most. Guess it's because they can't or don't vote!! Hubby's job is also on hold right now due to the economy. He was back to work most of 2011 and hopefully this slowdown won't last too long.
I think most of you know my oldest sister passed away in Sept. and my other sister had a stroke late November. Sara had her baby the day before my birthday in Sept while doing her last semester of nursing school. So I had the little guy a lot with her clinical schedule and final classes. She graduated on December 14th and now just has to take the test to get her license to be a nurse. (Plus she is still working at Chili's.) She was one of the top in her class so I know she will have no problem with the test. The little guy had a horrible time adjusting to formulas, we had to go through 6 different ones before we found one that didn't upset his little tummy. Our youngest son's baby is due March 4th, another boy. It will be nice the cousins will be only 6 months apart. Our son is really excited to become a father (after his initial terror)Our house is full of baby stuff since I watch little Kason so much. Our oldest son has moved home from up north and living with us at the moment (and Maine Coon cat). We have to arrange to go up north and get all his stuff by next week.
BHR I too have had that same respiratory infection since Dec 15th. The cough is horrible and since I don't sleep well normally, it is really bad trying to sleep with that cough. We had a wonderful Christmas with all the family here in spite of me not feeling well. I didn't even do any shopping until a few days before Christmas. We lost two of our dogs this past year so the one (our son's) dog that was left decided to go find a couple of strays to come home with him.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and will have a fantastic New Year. I hope to go to Nashville in the Spring for a friends wedding and certainly hope to be able to go to a couple concerts this year.
Hugs to everyone!!

Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes. I've been rather busy lately. Sara had her baby on the 14th, so that was an AWESOME birthday present for Nana. My sister passed away on the 1st, so that has been hard as she was more like a second mom to me since she was 14 years older. My other sister is home from the hospital and improving. I do hope to get to Macon and Huntsville if all goes well and as planned. Hugs to everyone.

OK, checking in like Dot asked me to. We are inland about 100 miles from the coast and thanks for the concern for us here. I have a lot going on right now but do try and read the board a few times a week. Hubby and I were watching Super Nanny last night and he said "I wonder if she has an age limit on kids!!" (ours are 28, 27, and 25)...LOL
Prayers for those poor people of Japan, a double whammy and now the nuclear problems.
I'm so excited to read all the news and reviews from Australia, I'm so happy Alan went "down under" for his thousands of fans there. I'll bet he will return now that he has seen how popular he is and how the Aussie's treated him, his band, and his crew, with such hospitality.
Spring is springing here in So Cal. It's been in the 70's this week and the cottonwood trees are starting to come out. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
Hugs to everyone!!

Thanks for such a detailed and superior review, loved reading all of it. I could certainly feel your excitement. Monty is such a sweetheart and is always so good to the fans. I agree, you should send your review into the fan club.

Hello everyone!! I try and read the boards a few times a week. I'm not even going to try and reply to everyone's posts.
Sorry for y'all in the stormy weather, wish I could send you some of our sunshine. The weather here has been very nice.
My sister is doing much better, she is home and has gained 30 pounds (she was down to 90lbs) and gaining strength so they can do surgery. Thank you all for your prayers for her.
Sara is pregnant again, due around my birthday. She will be using a high risk doctor this time so hopefully she will not have the same problems she did with the last one. It's good she found out now as the year anniversary of her losing the last one is next weekend, it should make it a little easier on her.
I was in an accident on 1-11 but thank the good Lord nobody was hurt. It's the first accident I've ever been in. It could have been so much worse. I turned a corner and there was a car headed straight for me, head on. I tried to go around her on the left as she was already headed for the passenger side of my suburban, but we hit on the passenger side. She left the scene so I figured I was out of luck to get her information but she came back and said she had fallen asleep, that it was her first accident. She was pretty shook up but did tell her insurance company it was her fault and that she had fallen asleep. My suburban has been in the shop since 1-13 but should be ready this week. I have a brand new Tahoe rental car, but it's still not my suburban.
I'm working a lot more and hoping for some tour dates I can plan some trips for.
Happy Green Bay won today (sorry to those of you rooting for the Steelers) The quarterback from Green Bay is from Chico, where my son and his fiance live. He was passed over by all the colleges when he was in high school so he went to the local community college where he was "discovered" by the NFL. It was nice to see a guy nobody thought was good enough for the NFL make it big.
Hope everyone is doing well, hugs to everyone. (Jean, isn't it about time for another trip to the US?)
