Just letting you all know that we're heading to Atlanta very early tomorrow morning to check a few rental homes/apartments. Hubby took only Monday and Tuesday off from work so we will be back home either Monday night or Tuesday morning/afternoon. Hopefully, with that short stay in Atlanta we'll be able to pick out our new home and we can then start moving some of our stuffs there.

Harriett, hope you get well soon. Sorry that we can't get together this weekend but you're right, it's better to play it safe with me still recovering from my surgery. Got your email but hasn't had enough time to sit down and respond to it. I'll be heading to bed after I finish posting this. . .had been a long a busy day, though trying not to overdo it. Looking forward to meeting and getting together with you soon.

Sharon, am I getting any reading done? Are you kidding me? LOL! These days it's a blessing if I get a bit of time to visit here on the board. I must say, however, during the first 2 weeks of recuperation from my surgery I did get a whole lot of reading done. But after that, and with the football season back and plus the prep for our move. . .sorting out stuffs we're getting rid off, doing inventory of stuffs we're taking with us, doing online research for homes and apartments in the Atlanta suburbs, etc. . . .by the time I needed the break I'm back to bed for a nap. And we have not started packing yet! I do have lots of reading catching up to do once we're settled to our new abode, that's for sure. :-)

Caz, good luck on your exam. I have every confidence that you'll do well.

Hello to everyone reading this and all I amiss mentioning.

Well, the bed is calling me so I'll cease here for now. Take care all and HUGS.

George Jones is celebrating a birthday September 12. Grand Ole Opry will be doing a show honoring GJ and his birthday.

POLL: Which is your favorite GJ duet?

"A Good Year For The Roses" with AJ is on the list with 20% of the votes, thus far, second to "Golden Ring" with Tammy Wynette at 60%.

Hi, Everyone!

Just been doing a lot of lurking here lately while continuing my recovery. I'm doing well with very minimal discomfort, mostly when my body is in motion. Other than that, I'm doing a whole better than I actually thought I would be at this point. Went out yesterday, just for the second time since my surgery, and it felt real good. We did our usual weekend grocery shopping and got a bit tired but did very well. My first outing was last Thursday evening when hubby took us out to dinner and it was grand for me, after having been indoors for almost 2 weeks. . . .I was starting to go crazy...LOL!

Harriett, so sorry to hear you're not well again. Praying for speedy recovery and good health for you and your hubby. We have been looking at rental homes online within the Cobb County this past weekend and printed out a few that we might look at when we make our trip to Atlanta this coming weekend. I'm so glad we waited another week to make this trip. I don't think I would have lasted without any discomfort otherwise. Thanks for all your help and keeping in touch with me.

Sharon, my hubby watches lots of college footballs too but is not much on NFL. So, we spent Saturday glued on tv watching football games too. Unfortunately, our fave team's game was not on tv here but we listened to their game via online radio broadcast. Congrats to Clemson! Happy to say our Huskers won too. Belated happy birthday to your son and keep the buzzards there. :-)

Terry, to you and your hubby, HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY! I still can remember when we celebrated our 30th, hubby surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of tulips in assorted colors that he ordered and had delivered on the morning of that day. He usually would get me roses and that was the the first time he had given flowers other than roses. We had our 38th this past May. Many more blessings of blissful days to you both.

Jeri, so happy to hear the good news on your hubby. Continued prayers for good health for you both. Thanks for thinking about me on my continuing recovery from my surgery. I appreciate that.

JeanAz, R2D2 flu? Thought was cute also. I forget it sometimes too. :-)

Beth and Kim, BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to both of you. Hope you both had a wonderful one.

JeanB, enjoy your tennis!

Hello to everyone I had amiss and reading this. Take care all. HUGS!

Hello, once again, Friends!

Thanks you all for your continued prayers for me. My recovery is very slow. . . .at least for me it's too slow. I think maybe I'm just starting to get real restless and frustrated here as there are so many things needed to get done here, as far as our move is concerned, and I can't do a darn thing. I know I have to be more patient here but patience is not exactly my virtue. Oh...well, guess there are things you just can't hurry on up. Patience. . . patience. . . :-) Still a bit sore but getting better everyday. No longer taking my Vicodin, just the over the counter ibuprofen. Thank God for that as Vicodin gets me very dizzy and I don't want to get addicted to it.

Cowboybill1, thanks for your prayers. . .and I DO believe. I'm curious, are you by any chance a Huskers fan? I've never been called or referred to as Big Red before, that's why I ask. :-)

Take care all and HUGS.

Just want to let you Jeri, HariAJFan and Terry know that my thoughts and prayers are with your hubbies. Jeri, glad to hear you found a good doctor to do the procedure your husband needs. He's in good hands. HariAJFan, hope you and your hubby are on the mend now.  Terry, glad to hear too that your hubby has found a job. Prayers that you both keep your jobs a long while.

Sharon, I have no problem taking it easy either but I can only take so many days of taking it easy before I get restless and frustrated. And that's where I'm at right now. So many things to do, re: move, and I can't do a darn thing. I know I have to be a little bit patient but patience is not my virtue either.  :-)  Oh. . .well. . . .

Take care all and thanks for the continued prayers.

Melanie, I just stopped by to see if anyone else had seen the latest update I had posted on here but apparently not. Thanks for keeping up the faith. I appreciate that. You're right, it's been 9 years since we first became cyber friends. WOW, time does fly fast. I'm still hoping to meet up with you one day soon. For now, I'm focusing on getting well and be able to be of some help on our pending move to the Atlanta suburbs. Thanks for the continued prayers too, dear friend.

Time for the meds again. Take care.

Love & HUGS,

Thank you all for your continued prayers and cares. I'm doing okay albeit very sore. I, too, am hoping and praying for a good lab result. I had a rough night last night topped with getting awaken at the wee hours of the morning very nauseated. Had some vomiting but doing fine now. I called my doc this morning and he put me on liquid diet until my stomach can handle solid food again.

As I said on my previous post, I had 3 incisions, 1 small one on each side of my abdomen and a slightly bigger one across my navel, vertically. I had a long wait before I was rolled in the OR. I have been prepped for almost 2 hours, except for the anesthesia, when my doc came to my room apologizing about the delay. Apparently someone messed up the surgical schedule yesterday and I ended up being taken cared of last. It was almost 2 in the afternoon by the time I was taken to the OR. So hubby and son was in the hospital with me practically all day and only left once to have brunch.

Terry, I'm so sorry you had to wait for the call. Hubby had received a number of calls on his CP and it has really been chaotic for him yesterday. It was already 8:30 in the evening by the time we got back home and I was ready to go straight to bed. Poor Hubby, doing all the work for me today. . . .and for the next few days. :-)   I sure could use the Merry Maids right now. Good suggestion, Sharon. :-)

Gotta have to take my pain meds again, so till next post. Take care everyone and thanks, again for your continued prayers. HUGS!

Thanks, AJTexasfan, LOUIEFL, Harriett and Sharon. Harriett, I have just sent you an email. Thanks for the help you offered. We appreciate that very much.

Have to make a little correction on the info I gave. Hubby actually will be working at 2 community clinics that the VA health center system have affiliation with, commuting from one place to the other. Had to laugh when hubby told me where he'll be working at. One is in Smyrna and other is in "a small town north of Atlanta named Newnan," he said. He asked me what was so funny. After I told him that Newnan is Alan's hometown and where his Mom still lives in the same house he grew up in, he gave me a loud groan. LOL! Guess I'll finally see that house. I've only seen it in pictures.

Well, I've got to go bed. Best get started tomorrow preparing for the move. That will at least keep my mind off the surgery for the moment. Take care, friends.
