Just want to share a highlight of Alan's concert at Chastain Park. In light of his passing yesterday (Friday), Alan did a very sweet and moving tribute to George Jones to start his show. He sang, "He Stopped Loving Her Today" with the backdrop of montages of George Jones' photos on the screens taken with Alan and other people with the last photo that of George and his wife, Nancy. I was choked up, close to tears and, I'm sure, so were many others who were there. I had wondered if he would do that and was happy to have been there and watched and heard him do it. I think Alan will fill in the shoes of George Jones and many other legendary country music artists before him very nicely.

AJ Fans & Friends,
Today is a sad day with the news of the passing of one of the greatest country artists of all time. I am sadden to inform you all that George Jones passed away today, Friday, April 26, after being hospitalized the 18th of this month at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with low grade fever and irregular blood pressure. He was 81. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they grieve. Rest In Peace, George. You are going to be sorely missed by many and will never be forgotten.

Seems like I read also a while back, if one gets a special Award , whether in Songwriting or whatever, they have to wait 2 years to be elected to the HOF, but I could be wrong. Remember Alan has gotten Awards for his Songwriting recently & deservedly so! Jeri, that rule may either have been changed or they're just flat out ignoring it because the fact is both Alan and Garth Brooks were inducted in the NSHOF in the Fall of 2011 and Garth was inducted in the CMHOF last year (2012). So why didn't they induct Alan then too? If I am to guess, that is because CMA and ACM both have history with Alan and they can't bury their hatches (ACM has not bestowed Alan their coveted Entertainer of the Year award). Garth, who have not done anything noteworthy since his retirement in 2000 and came back to do few shows in Las Vegas from 2010 to date that most of his loyal fans could not even afford the price of the tickets for, qualified for induction to the CMHOF, but Alan, who has multitude of accomplishments during those same years and received honors for his remarkable accomplishments, did not and still do not? This is the reason I am so miffed. I think they're just doing their damnest to have Alan wait until doomsday to receive his justly deserved honor to be inducted in the CMHOF when he no longer can or will enjoy it.
Sorry for going on and on about this issue, but I'm just so tired of all their politicking practices at both the HOF and awards election processes of inductees and winners. I can say more but I'll restrain myself. . .for now.

Hi, Harriet, Hope you're doing well. There are only couple of places nearby our area where I can get my copy of CW now, Publix Supermarket and WalMart. Kroger's don't carry them anymore, as well as Dollar General. . .at least I've not seen it there in a while. I haven't been seeing it either at Barnes and Nobles bookstore. I might re-start my subscription but, it just that some issues they come out with I don't particularly care to read.

Ticketmaster said fan club presale was to start today at 10 am and now they are saying no tickets available yet....Is this standard practice for Ticketmaster? If so, it sucks. Crummybaker, just a few things to add to what Alanfan already has stated. I don't know for what venue you were trying to purchase your concert ticket(s) for as you didn't mention it on your post. However, for fan club pre-sale schedules, it's safer and best that you go to the TOUR page on this site and get them from there. On the right hand side of the list, click on More that is next to the venue you'll be going to. If it's not there, as Alanfan said, contact the fan club (prez, Cindy). From my own personal experience, Ticketmaster is not always accurate with their infos on special ticket pre-sales outside of their own. They have burned me more than once that I've learned not to be too trusting of them on that. Also, they or the venue sometimes have their own ticket pre-sale events that confuses most fans, myself included. The other thing too is, at the very hour the fan club pre-sale schedule starts, it's highly suggested that you already be there online ordering your ticket(s) by that time or soon after not only to get good seating assignment(s) but also to beat running out of tickets for sale as tickets for Alan's concerts do sell fast, and may even be before the scheduled end of the pre-sale event. Hopes these helps. . .even for next time. Hope you're still able to buy your tickets. Best of luck to you!

Pat, you can try and make contact with Cindy (AJFC Prez.) by email (attach the photo) or phone:

Indeed, your Mom's guitar is a very valuable one that professional and amateur, but serious, guitar collectors alike could and probably would get interested in. I play guitar on my leisure. . .no audience. . .and still own the guitar my husband gave me 40 years ago for my birthday and Mother's Day a couple of months after our first child was born. It's not one of those real expensive ones, but, about 10 years ago or so someone offered to buy it from me for $300. That was almost 5 times the price my husband paid for it back then, hard case included. I was a bit surprised but turned down the offer for sentimental reason. So, I can understand why you may not want just anyone to buy or have it and thought of Alan instead. I wish you the very best of luck!
Good day to you, BHR

Saw and read this announcement line within the Editor's Letter from the current issue of CW (Reba on the cover):
Stay tuned for our next issue, on March 25, as we get better acquainted with the handsome ALAN JACKSON.
March 25 issue will be available at the stores this coming weekend. Thought I'll give you all the heads up.

BM, LOL! . . .your last liner on if you win the M&G. I'm hoping to win the Front Row Seating tickets, though. That will certainly make for a very special birthday present for me (and my son too!). My austistic son, who is a big fan of Alan's, and before I had been, won the M&G September of 2011 at the Macon concert. I went with him to meet Alan. That was quite an experience I will never forget. Sure would love to have another chance at it.
Yep, I could not not have said it any better. I thought too that the info we had given the FC would already have been made available or directed to Live Nation. and, therefore, would no longer necessitate us to register again, which would have made it quicker to order the tickets for those of us who were doing this for the first time through Live Nation. They fooled me! But, at least we won't to have to register again the next time we order tickets from them, hopefully. You're very lucky to be in the 4th row. Congrats!
Can't wait to be at Alan's concert! Counting the days already. LOL!
